We are so excited that you'd like to learn more about our puppies! We'll try to cover most of the basics, but please feel free to reach out to us at any time with any questions that you might have.

Here at Beaucerons du Cosmos we raise our litters with Jane Killion's Puppy Culture Program. We believe that this system goes a long way to ensuring our puppies go to their new homes with the best possible foundations. We have found that puppies raised with this method, or other similar programs, are more able to adapt in new environments, are more willing to work with their human, and are better able to problem solve. Even if you choose to go with a different breeder for your Beauceron puppy, we highly recommend you find someone who uses Puppy Culture, Avidog, Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), Early Scent Introduction (ESI) and/or another similar methods.
 

Our puppies live in our home with us and are exposed to all of the sights and sounds of day to day activity. In the very first week we begin ENS and ESI with the puppies. Then once they are old enough, they are introduced to friendly people, safe animals, and a variety of age appropriate challenges.

All puppies will be temperament tested using Volhard's Puppy Aptitude Test and will be introduced to livestock before being paired with their new family. Additionally, puppies will be evaluated by myself, my vet and a fellow breeder for soundness of build and conformation to the AKC standard for either sport, working, or show home placement. 

Puppies are NOT placed on a first-come first-serve basis. Having an approved puppy application does not automatically mean that you will be paired with a puppy. We will do our very best to match puppies to homes based on best fit. Although, this will take into account gender and color, decisions will be based mostly on temperament. We promise to keep those on our waitlist as informed as possible as we make these tough decisions. Transparency is very important to us and while we do recognize that waiting is difficult, we believe that being sent home with a puppy that does not match your lifestyle and/or goals will be even more challenging. If we are unable to produce the puppy that you are looking for, you may remain on our waitlist and/or we can direct you to another responsible Beauceron breeder who might have a more appropriate puppy.
